CHESTERMERE CHIEFS

The Chestermere Chiefs is a volunteer run program that provides the opportunity for youth to learn and play tackle football. Our club, in conjunction with Minor Football Calgary are committed to safe play and our coaches are trained in safe contact.​

The Chestermere Chiefs provides tackle football development opportunities for youth aged 8-14 from Chestermere, Langdon, and area, through coaching and scheduled games.

The Calgary Chiefs Spring Football program provides football development for students located in the SE greater Calgary area who are currently enrolled in Grade 9, 10 and 11 in tackle football in conjunction with Calgary Spring Football Association.

Our season generally kicks off the first Tuesday in August with a month of practices and conditioning for all ages.

Practice by division:

  • Atom - 2 days/week (Monday/Wednesday) from 6:30-8:00
  • PeeWee - 3 days/week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) 6:30-8:30
  • Bantam - 4 days/week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday) 6:30 -8:30
  • Spring Football 3 days/week (days + time TBD)

Game schedules will be posted when they are published by our leagues. Spring season games will run April - June. Regular season games will begin in late August and every weekend until Mid-October, PeeWee and Bantam games are on Saturday, Atom games on Sunday at either 10am or  12. All games are played at Shouldice Athletic Park. 

Atom (born 2013, 2014, 2015)

Provides on field support for our youngest players (8-10 years old at the start of the season). A modified game with emphasis on safe contact and having fun!

2023 fees: $380. 

+ $150 equipment deposit. $1 is paid at the time of registration and the balance is only collected if the equipment is not returned clean at the end of our season. 

Season fee includes: equipment rental  (helmet, shoulder pads, pants, socks, jersey), field costs, league fees, and player insurance. 

We offer a payment plan and are happy to work with parents for any payment assistance required. We want to include all players!

PeeWee (born in 2011, 2012)

For the 11-12 year olds we move to full CFL rules with lots of coaching support from the sidelines. Emphasis is on safe contact and deeper understanding of the game.

Bantam (born 2009, 2010 or 2008 born and starting Grade 9)

Bantam Football is for Players aged 13 or 14.  Goal is to set up our players for success in high school football.

Season fee includes: equipment rental  (helmet, shoulder pads, pants, socks, jersey), field costs, league fees, and player insurance.

SPRING FOOTBALL (Currently enrolled in Grade 9, 10, or 11)

Spring Football is for Players currently in grade 9, 10, or 11.  Goal is to provide players additional training & field time for success in high school football.

Fundraising

We pride ourselves on keeping football affordable for all families. To help fund equipment upgrades, coaches training, and other necessary investments for our organization, we ask that all Chiefs families participate in annual fundraisers and raise a minimum of $200 per player
